WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) is the foremost international body in the field of wines and spirits education.

What?

In colloquial speech often spoken of as “Oxford” of oenology,  WSET is active in more than 55 countries around the globe. In 2012 alone, more than 43,000 people completed various levels of WSET programs. It has been holding quality seminars for wine industry professionals since 1969, and it has been some time now that it opened its door to all other wine enthusiasts. Its high quality and education and training programme and its systematic approach are the reason why it has grown into one of the most influential educational bodies in the field of wines and spirits.

Why?

Wine and restaurant scene is developing quickly in Croatia. There are more and more true wine enthusiasts which are also increasingly demanding guests. Restaurant and catering services staff is expected to provide advice on the pairing of wine and food, as well as quality presentation of wine before it is consumed and professional serving.

WSET program is intended for those who are employed in the following sectors:  

  • catering
  • wine distribution and retail
  • wholesale chains
  • wine sales
  • wine critics
  • bloggers and journalists
  • wine enthusiasts
  • collectors
  • and all those who are just joining the world of wines

How?

Program consists of 3 basic levels and a diploma, and is designed in the manner that takes into account the level of knowledge the participants already possess:  

  • WSET Level 1 - Award in Wines - Foundation
  • WSET Level 2 - Award in Wines and Spirits - Intermediate
  • WSET Level 3 - Award in Wines and Spirits - Advanced
  • WSET Level 4 - Diploma in Wines and Spirits (available in London).

Upon each successfully completed program level (exam) the participant is awarded an internationally acknowledged certificate. Master of Wines Institute recommends WSET Level 4 – Diploma which is a prerequisite for Master of Wine candidates.

Who?

WSET acts through a network of Approved Programme Providers (APP). Over a thousand of them organize daily WSET programs around the globe, providing the participants with the opportunity to be systematically introduced to the fascinating world of wines.  Enokultura d.o.o. is a part of WSET Approved Programme Provider (APP) for WSET qualifications in Croatia. Wine Academy Croatia is a protected brand of Enokultura.
